LAAPAC is busy in your community. Yet there is much work to be done. There are plenty opportunities to give of yourself in this community. LAAPAC needs your help. Lakewood needs your help. We have been trying to gather a list of volunteers for many of the local functions going on in many of the Lakewood areas that predominately cater to African-American teens.

LAAPAC has pledged it’s commitment to America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth. This multi-year national campaign chaired by retired General Colin L. Powell, seeks access to provide youth with five fundamental resources.

· Ongoing relationships with caring adults - parents, mentors, tutors, coaches;

· Safe places with structured activities during non-school hours;

· Healthy start and future;

· Marketable skills through effective education; and

· Opportunities to give back through community service.

These are some of the many aspects of community Service that LAAPAC is driven to support. We believe that things of this nature will save our children from negative interactions with the police department.
